A Liberal Marxist’s View of Internet Gambling
[ send me this paper ]
This 5 page
report discusses international Internet gambling in the context
of thinking exercised by a liberal Marxist. The traditional
Marxist viewpoint follows the original thinking of Karl Marx that
all events in human society are determined by economic forces.
Marx’s ultimate goal was to liberate the world from the evil of
acquisitive materialism and lead the human race to a new freedom.
He saw humans as unable to overcome greed. And certainly, greed
plays an important role in gambling. Therefore, a liberal Marxist
is likely to find him/herself in the unusual position of siding
with ultra-conservatives and the religious right regarding
international Internet gambling. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

A Look at Different Types of Budgets
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Budgets
are primarily based on history of expenditures and income as well
as related items, and are also based on the future forecasts for
such. Budgets, however, mean different things to different
groups. For instance, an individual's household budget would be
entirely different for that of a public sector budget. Likewise,
the for-profit corporations have budgets that are based on
different values from those of non-profit organizations. An
excellent paper which also examines why caution must be used when
comparing budget variance reports with the monthly reports of any
organization. Bibliography lists 4 sources.

A Look at the Dual-Income Family
[ send me this paper ]
8 pages in length. An interesting and enlightening paper that examines the history and research of the dual-income family and how it relates to the marriage partners, the workplace and the family. With the advent of dual-income marriages taking precedence over those with only one breadwinner, one would think the primary focus here is the financial one. Contrary to popular opinion, the primary concern in the dual-income family is the division of chores and the inner conflict as to who has the most important income in the house. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
