While a precise after-the-fact psychological analysis cannot be made of either, this paper delves into the cannibalistic aspect of these crimes in particular and emphasizes the utilization of standardized psychological methodology such as the multi-axial approach of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV) in attempting such a diagnosis.
